BC Rail.
The former British Columbia Railway, or BC Rail, is arguably the most scenic railroad in North America. It follows ocean shoreline, river canyons, and mountain lakes. Its climb out of the Fraser River canyon north of Lilloet is nothing short of spectacular. It is now part of Canadian National, and while the scenery is no less beautiful, the number of trains has been drastically reduced so that photo opportunities are more limited. Perhaps the only good news is that the Rocky Mountaineer now operates excursion trains over much of its line.
