In the beginning.....

January 1, 1957. On my very first steam fan trip SP 2475, a sister of 2472, pulled a Central Coast Railway Club special from San Jose to Tracy via Niles canyon. Today this stretch of track is part of the Niles Canyon Railway museum operation, and between Pacific Locomotive Association's collection of Harriman cars and the 2472, this picture can be virtually duplicated today....except maybe for the intrusion of a lot of brush.
