Tehachapi April 2012.
Here are a few pix from a two day visit to Tehachapi in April 2012. The aggressive enforcement of no trespassing by both the railroad and surrounding ranch owners has reduced the amount of "exploring" that we used to feel free to do, but there are still a lot of good pix to be had from legal and "close to legal" locations. We exercised reasonable good judgement and were not hassled by either railroad employees or landowners. We didn't see a single "gun toting rancher" on our whole visit. While not a whole lot has changed since previous visits, we did notice that the traditional SP searchlight signals are being rapidly replaced by the UP standard darth vader signals. We had some wonderful spring weather including some very photogenic clouds.
